So typically when I make fish tacos, I make them with Mahi Mahi. Well, my normal grocery store has stopped carrying Mahi Mahi so I was forced to try a new fish. I am not a fan of fish. The only two I will typically eat are Salmon and Mahi Mahi, so buying Sword Fish was out of my comfort zone. I am so glad I did! Sword Fish is not super fishy and it made a delicious taco!
Here is what you will need:
- Sword Fish
- Corn Tortillas
- Coconut Oil
- Shredded Cabbage
- Shredded Cheese
- Mango Salsa
Step 1: The first step is to season the fish. I used a combo of salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, turmeric, and cayenne powder. I seasoned both sides of the fish.

Step 2: Pour a thin layer of coconut oil into a pan, place the sword fish in the pan, and cook on a medium heat for about 5 minutes. Flip and cook for 5 minutes on the other side.

Step 3: While the fish is cooking, fry the tortillas. Pour a generous amount of coconut oil into a frying pan and let it heat up on a medium-high heat.

Step 4: When the oil is hot, place one tortilla into the pan. After about 3 seconds, flip the tortilla over and fold in half. Keep flipping every few seconds, to prevent one side from burning. When the shell is crispy on both sides, pull it out of the pan, place on a paper towel, and repeat with the rest of the shells.

Step 5: Once everything is cooked it is time to assemble the taco! I diced the sword fish, but you can also shred it. Our tacos had cheddar cheese, shredded cabbage, and mango salsa.

These were delicious! What’s your favorite kind of fish taco? I would love to hear! Maybe I can expand my fish taste buds further!
